  This is a 13 track CD featuring a couple of original compositions from guitarist Tom Lockwood, his first electric guitar release.

Notes:  Tom performed in many bands through the early 1970’s before moving to Chatham (from Detroit) in 1977.
Through the 1980’s, Tom’s focus was on composing music on Classical and steel string guitar. During the nineties, Tom released 2 CD’s. 2011 marks 34 years of private guitar teaching for Mr. Lockwood. He can also be seen performing solo or with his band at Blues festivals, corporate events, or special entertainment for various functions.

The Scoop : Never less than professional, Tom is one of the area’s most popular & noted Guitarist’s.
   He has performed in Rock bands in the past but his heart is in creating acoustic guitar compositions.
   Tom spreads his knowledge & passion through teaching guitar lessons & has taught most of this cities new artists. It is always nice to be able to catch Tom perform a solo show or catch him at  an open jam with other local artists.
  The tune “Mercy,Mercy,Mercy” garnered lots of CBC airplay and racked up emails from listeners all over Canada.

This followup Cassette only release was met with great reviews, with a full page feature in the Our Times section of the the London Free Press praising Tom’s “World class music”.

This release featured some ensemble pieces as well as more original solo pieces by Tom. Again produced by Steve Fowler.

After receiving encouragement from many guitarists, including Classical virtuoso Liona Boyd, Tom releases this cassette of all original solo guitar performances (produced by Steve Fowler).

This release is well reviewed and one track especially; “Blues for Lenny Breau” receives substantial CBC airplay.

  The third-annual CK Guitar Summit comes to the Kiwanis Theatre May 22.
  Chatham guitarist Tom Lockwood leads the show, which will also feature Chris Rupert, Mike Schatte, Ray Whaling, Brian Allossery, Bob Hiltz and Mark Wolfe.

Chris Rupert

   Guitarist and composer Chris Rupert teaches all styles of guitar and composes music (primarily) for classical guitar. He began playing the guitar at age 13, but didn’t begin his focus on the classical guitar until age 17.

   He studied jazz harmony with Jim Howard while attending Wilfrid Laurier University and received his A.R.C.T. in classical guitar performance at age 25, when he was awarded a gold medal for achieving the highest mark in Canada.
