Rene is a world class pedal steel and slide guitar player who chooses to keep Chatham as his home. He has played with many international acts and continues to be called upon by high profile groups that come through Canada.

Rene plays with the Montreal based band ‘Desert Heat’ in 2007. Gigs consisted of fairs & festivals in the Ottawa to Montreal area, from being opening acts for Amanda Wilkinson, George Canyon & The Road Hammers to being the main act.
Desert Heat’s brand new CD “Tail lights and Love” was just named in the Top 5 of 2007 by Country Music News in Canada. The CD features a formidable selection of songs written by Desert Heat, and co-written by Nashville’s top songwriters and produced by the multi-platinum record-smiths Joel Feeney and Jeff Nystrom.
Desert Heat has just been nominated for TOP NEW GROUP in Canada at the 2008 Canadian Country Music Awards.

Shania Twain, Reba, Tim, Faith, Cher, Buddy Holly,
Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, Rod Stewart, ZZ Top,
and The Blues Brothers.
Has performed at such venues as: Casino Windsor,
Windsor Slots, Sudbury Slots, Point Edward Casino,
Hiawatha Raceway (Sarnia), Motor City Casino (Detroit), Western Tour (Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Victoria, Niagara Falls, Timmins), Massachussets Fesivals,
Quebec Festivals, Montreal’s McGill Molsen Statdium,
and The CNE in Toronto.
Rene has been in opening acts for: The Road Hammers,
The Stampeders, Thomas Wade & Wayward, Duane Steel, Michele Wright, Jason McCoy, Doc Walker, Diane Chase,
and Blue Rodeo.
