Notes: Lesser Known was heading into the direction of Metal with strong hints of rap induced play. All bands could learn a thing or two about presentation from them. They were probably the best run indie band in Canada. Do It Yourself motto in full swing with great posters, band fanzines, website and studio blogs, posters, merch, media, great production, you name it. They had all that perfected 10 years before anyone else could spell check their own bio.
Back in the day, Spaz was a leading force with his emotional stage presence, sucking you in to the secret circle that was the Lesser Known Zone. He had mastered this with his previous band D.N.A. which also included some members from the current band.

Members:
Jamie Reaume – Vocals and guitar.
Neil Tupling – Bass (ex-Lost Souls Division)

Notes: Some of you may know singer songwriter Jamie Reaume from his previous band Foreign Film Star, or saw him play a solo acoustic show in Chatham or Windsor. He used to often play at the Elephant’s Nest and other venues while growing up in Chatham.
Jamie is currently living in the Windsor area and his new band involves musicians from there as well.
This is a great indie CD worth checking out. Their first single “Cell Phone” is a great indication of jamie improving consistently with his song writing and song structures. This track alone shows signs of a band who gets it and has worked hard to drop tracks that simply rock without trying to over play, be too artsy, or too safe.

Bio
Margaret Wysman was born and raised in Chatham, Ontario, and she is the youngest of nine siblings.
From 1985 to 1991 Margaret attended The University of Western Ontario, worked in molecular genetics research at UWO for a couple of years, taught laboratory courses, and in 1991, did a short stint as a field ecologist for the Ministry of Natural Resources in Wingham, Ontario. Although she was a science major in Western’s Ecology and Evolution program, Margaret loved variety, and consequently, she enrolled in English Literature and psychology courses and taught herself to play the guitar. From 1987 until 1993 she belonged to a Christian folk group, The 53RD Musicians. Margaret played some key musical roles in this group. In addition to creating many new harmonies and arrangements for the songs in their repertoire, she sang, played guitar, recorder, penny whistle, mandolin, and often provided comic relief.
From August of 1997 to March of 1999 some 25 songs were penned and performed by Margaret at a variety of venues in Bruce, Grey and Kent Counties. She has performed for several events at the CAW Family Education Centre in Port Elgin, including anniversaries of the Montreal Massacre, The Women’s International Dinners, political rallies for Ontario Teachers’ Federations, and CAW Cultural Nights. She has been a regular performer at The Songbird Cafe in Durham, at The Storybook Cafe in Southampton and for the Candlelight Music Series in Southampton. Also, she has opened for Keating-Jones at the annual Sing Out Cafe at Glencolton Farms and has played for the students at Saugeen District Secondary several times.

Demo Kid released a 24-song demo in 2007 and hasn’t slowed down a bit. 2008 saw as many as 30 new original songs posted online. Above are a few fun songs/videos from this year.
Artist: The MATADORS Release: Matadors (Demo) Style: Rockabilly Date: 1999
Chatham Connection: Singer Chris Hart is from Chatham.During his high school years he fronted the punk rock band L.O.T.D. (Lice Of The Dead). After moving to London, he joined Jivaro Fracus, and later the Matadors. In 2000, Chris began a venture into solo records.
At the time, the band did a mix of covers and original music.
The Matadors are:
Joel Parkins – Guitar
Steve Crew – Drums Linda McCartney – Organ
Jefry Sheppard – Dog House Bass
Chris Hart – Vocals
Tracks:
Ride, Other Man, Hangin’ Round, London Dungeon
These songs were recorded at dB studios in London, Ontario in 1998-ish.
I was lucky enough to catch Chris perform in local punk & rockabilly bands before he moved on to London. Chris’s voice is amazing. He may not like that I think he has an early Danzig/Misfits sound, but he does, and he turned it into his own. Go listen.
Note from chrwradio : Chris Hart went on to record his own record entitled Lonesome Blood. Linda McCartney sadly died that year of cancer related illnesses. Jef and Joel, however, transformed the Matadors into what the original intention of the band was….a youth oriented Satanic outreach and musical revue. The new Matadors also put out a record, aptly named ‘Heartless’, in 2002.
The new Matadors’ post-Chris sound had a less “erectile dysfuntion” feel to it and a more raw and evil tone.
Tracks: Ride, Other Man, Hangin’ Round, London Dungeon
Additional Musicians – Matt Drew – Percussion, Jay Moskaluk – Guitar on ‘Inspire Me’.
The Scoop: This is the bands 2nd demo. Just like the first one, Shawn & Jesse spit the vocal duties, but by the next release, they recall Mat Drew to the front.
The song “She Said” caught the attention of the local radio station “The Rock” who put it into regular rotation, from there it spun off to other stations.
The Mellow track ‘Deny Me’ was accepted well in the California area.
Recording credits Produced by Steve Eyres & The Janet Theory. Engineered, Mixed & Mastered by Steve Eyres. Recorded at Eyres Space Studio. Chatham Ontario (Franks Music Center) Jan-July ’98.

Sarah Hiltz:
listen @ Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/sarahhiltz Sarah was kind enough to come over & record backing vocals on “Will You Forgive Me In The end”, a new song I wrote with Jesse V. We did this in April. She did backing vocals on ‘Just’ by FL3P (First line Third Planet) that stood out and made me take notice.
FL3P was a short lived band, (around 2004) but a great band. The drummer (Chuck Young) has been a good friend & long time band mate beginning with me in ‘Foster Child’ in 1991 to The Janet Theory & Dead Girls Union.
The track Sarah Hiltz sings on with FL3P is called ‘Just’ and can be heard here.

Ruthless C*nt Killers Music: http://www.myspace.com/ruthlesscuntkillers Yep, they called it a day. I went to show Bob & Keegan some love by attending their last show as the R.C.K. at the KBD Hall in Chatham a month ago.
It was good to catch more good local underground bands on the bill, like Davis Block & 100 Proof.
